Born and raised in New York, I now live near Atlanta, GA with my wife and fur babies. I am a combat veteran of Desert Storm and a former US Army Major. I graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York with an M.A. in English/Journalism and an M.S. in Psychology.
It's never been enough for me to shake my head when people exhibit aberrant behavior - I need to understand why they do it and, even more importantly, why they feel entitled to do it.
While at Columbia, I also minored in Political Science & History.
I established The Veracity Report, a podcast and news channel devoted to help expose shamelessly disguised media broadcasts, articles, and other types of media that are nothing more than veiled political propaganda vehicles or personal agenda hyperbole machines.
Several years ago, I made the decision to dedicate my working life toward the meta-goal of restoring integrity and unbiased fact dissemination into the realms of both investigative and informative journalism. I created The Veracity Report to help me serve that purpose. You can feel free to examine it at veracityreport.org
Why? Because Walter Cronkite, one of my childhood role models, never told his audience that anybody he was reporting on was a jerk, an idiot, or a con artist. He gave us the facts - all of them, the good, the bad, and the ugly - then he left it to us to formulate our own opinions about the subject matter and, perhaps most importantly, about the subjects themselves.
I'm of the opinion that, unless we're writing an op-ed or visiting a satirical blog or website, there's no place for personal feelings and opinions in journalism. People in today's world have a hard enough time distinguishing facts from fantasies - as journalists, it should be our job, and our responsibility, to help clarify that distinction, not blur it further.
